Headquartered in Switzerland with a production facility in Germany, TDC International AG (TDC) specialises in various specialty industrial constructions using glass-fibre reinforced plastics (GRP). TDC services a variety of industrial customers across a wide spectrum of industries, including energy infrastructure and pipeline infrastructure, electricity and gas utilities, water and wastewater, chemicals, agriculture, transportation, and many others.
TDC needed a strong platform that could handle aligning its two facilities and moving away from heavily manual spreadsheets that created little visibility. This silo set up posed many difficulties including compiling revenue information and maintaining accurate data. As reporting was limited, efficient project management across the entire organisation was also difficult. The goal was to remove the diverse Excel files and manual steps and create an automated process with solid KPI tracking.
EMPAUA designed and implemented a Sales Cloud solution combined with a CPQ component, allowing for an automated process from lead generation to invoicing. The project management solution enables TDC to have an overview of all the different stakeholders involved in a project (suppliers, engineers, competitors etc.) and in which phase the project is currently at. Furthermore, TDC is now able to leverage a product catalogue that is standardised enough to efficiently create quotes, but still flexible enough to adapt to each customers preference. Additionally, EMPAUA established a customised invoicing component which allows customer and intercompany invoicing.
Besides the technical implementation, EMPAUA put great emphasis in training TDC’s employees, providing them with sufficient knowledge and autonomy about their new system. The trainings mainly included field creation, report building, custom translations, and page layout adjustments.
TDC now has a strong platform to further grow their business. All the information needed for project management and execution can now efficiently be tracked despite extensive project cycles and can thoroughly be measured across the different entities. Information is now standardised and secure, allowing for accurate forecasting and KPI tracking. The salesforce solution also provides a collaboration tool between the different departments allowing for greater interaction across the entire company.
